User evaluation of a combined blood glucose meter & dose calculator
Combining the functionality of an in-vitro blood glucose meter and an insulin calculator, this device has a number of touch points by both patient and health care provider stakeholders.
Objective: user experience/human factors studies were conducted to understand the various interactions both patients and providers have with the hardware and software, as well as any potential use-errors that may be attributed to the UX design and/or supporting documentation.
Methods: competitive benchmarking, interviews and observations
Deliverables: presentation and written report outlining results and specific recommendations for improving the usability of the digital interface design and information architecture
